Why do I receive a security warning about accessibility features when I open the TWINT app?
Some Android apps use these features to control smartphone functions, such as password managers, screen readers, and automation apps.
Why does TWINT display a security warning about these features?
Apps with active accessibility features can theoretically read screen content. As TWINT is a sensitive financial app, we check whether such services are running in the background to protect your security.
What should I do?
- Check the error message to see which app is triggering the warning.
- If you recognise and trust the app — for example, your password manager — you can confirm the message by clicking ‘OK’. You can then continue to use TWINT as usual, unlike with warnings about apps covering TWINT.
- If you are unfamiliar with one of the apps mentioned, we recommend checking it carefully and, if necessary, uninstalling it to be on the safe side.
Why does the message keep appearing?
This is because the protection is activated every time you log in, even after a long break, to ensure that no new, potentially harmful apps have been added.
