Another app is overlaid on top of TWINT. What can I do?

The use of certain apps on Android devices can result in the following error message being displayed in the TWINT app: «Another app overlays TWINT (e.g. a «blue filter» app). This is not supported for security reasons. Please deactivate such apps in order to proceed.»

The cause of this message is always apps that are authorised to be displayed in front of or on top of other apps. This is not permitted for security reasons. In order to stop the error message being displayed, the apps in question must have this authorisation withdrawn.

These settings can be found in different places depending on the device and the Android version. The usual method is to go to the app settings via the device settings and once there, tap «special» or «advanced» settings (often accessed via a cogwheel symbol or by three dots/lines at the top of the screen) and then select the «Show above other apps» or «Show at the start».

Unfortunately, we are unable to tell you which of these apps is responsible for the error message in this instance. The best way to deal with this problem is to withdraw the authorisation for each of the potentially responsible apps individually and check whether the error message is still displayed. This process would then have to be repeated until the app that is causing this problem is found.

Should this method not solve the problem, please do not hesitate to contact our Support team.
