Making payments and sending money with TWINT is secure. We will explain here how we protect your data and your money as well as how you can effectively protect yourself against scamming attempts.

Do not share your password with anyone

TWINT will support you by telephone and in writing if you have any questions about your TWINT application. Our support staff will never ask you to provide them or anyone else with confidential information such as passwords or access data, either verbally or in writing. Only enter confidential data in your TWINT app where it is 100% secure.

Secure payments with the TWINT QR code and payment link

With the TWINT QR code and payment link, you can pay simply, securely and quickly at supermarket checkouts, at farm shops, in online shops or via digital channels:

  1. Check the payment link: the official structure is https://go.twint.ch/
  2. Click on the payment link or open your TWINT app.
  3. Scan the TWINT QR code with your TWINT app or follow the instructions.
  4. Confirm your payment if necessary

Do not scan the TWINT QR code with your smartphone camera or with another app. If you pay online with TWINT, always complete the payment with the QR code (or with the numerical code) in your TWINT app.

Send money securely with TWINT 

You can use TWINT to send money or split a restaurant bill with your friends, for example. This way, you can make sure that your money is sent to the right person:

  • Check every payment request closely
  • Only send money to people you know personally
  • Check the name, phone number and amount before sending any money

Pay particular attention when making purchases from online marketplaces and exchange platforms. Never send money to strangers without first checking their identity thoroughly.

Secure online payments with TWINT

TWINT is the most popular payment method in Swiss online shops and is 100% secure if you follow these simple tips:

  • Only scan QR codes from trustworthy sources
  • Don’t pay with 5-digit numerical codes that someone has sent you
  • Pay particular attention when making purchases from online marketplaces and exchange platforms

  • TWINT, our partners and your bank will never ask you for your security code.
