Please see the current list. The plug-in can be procured very easily from our plug-in providers. Costs may vary depending on the provider, shop tool and plug-in.

What is the maximum limit for a 30-day reservation?

The TWINT limits for buyers apply here and can differ according to which TWINT app is being used.

Connecting TWINT to e-commerce via a payment service provider (PSP).

In order to activate TWINT in your shop, select your payment service provider when creating the online point of sale.

You must then issue an instruction to your PSP to activate TWINT as a payment option. For this purpose, your PSP will require the alias you defined for the point of sale. You can enter this alias as the contract number for the TWINT payment option in the web interface of your payment service provider.

A customer claims to have paid, but I cannot find the payment.

On extremely rare occasions, it may happen that a TWINT payment has been made successfully (i.e. the customer has been charged and the merchant credited and also paid out), but the payment is not shown in your online shop system or in the portal of your PSP.
PSP.

In order to be able to respond correctly to such customer enquiries, we recommend consulting the TWINT merchant portal. In the TWINT merchant portal, you will find all of the successful payments for which the customer has been charged and you have also been paid by TWINT AG in accordance with the payment interval you selected. Here, you can use the transaction search (e.g. by searching for a specific date and amount) to check whether the payment was successful or not.

Should you experience this problem at an increasing rate, we recommend the following options:

  • ou can consult the TWINT merchant portal, which contains details of every successful payment under “Statement”. You can then compare this in regular intervals (depending on the payment interval you selected) with the statements from your online shop or your PSP. Tip: if the total amount and the number of successful transactions in both statements match, there is no need to carry out any further checks.
  • If customers contact you with this issue and you are able to verify that it has been caused by this problem, you can either subsequently supply the goods/services or reimburse the customer with the payment via the TWINT merchant portal. Instructions on how to do this are available here. An exception to this rule is when the TWINT account belonging to your customer has been closed in the meantime. In these exceptional circumstances, you would have to contact your customer directly and arrange an alternative method of reimbursing them with their payment (using the same procedure as with a credit card that is no longer valid).

Should you have any further questions on this topic, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service team.

What are the benefits of the User on file solution for automated payments?

Using TWINT’s User on File alias solution, customers can pay quicker in online shops and apps by saving TWINT permanently as a payment method. UoF is particularly well-suited to subscription models and the fast payment of individual amounts.

For example, User on File could offer these retailers added value.

  • Online shops with returning customers
  • Subscription models (e.g. streaming services, newspaper subscriptions, club memberships)
  • Mobility service providers (e.g. car sharing, public transport tickets)
  • Restaurants and delivery services with regular orders

If you have any further questions about this, send us an email to [email protected].

Integrate TWINT into e-commerce via a shop plug-in.

If a TWINT plug-in is already available for your online shop system, you can create a new “online shop” point of sale in the TWINT merchant portal. Follow these instructions.

Please install the plugin first and then the certificate in your online shop system.

How do I activate the 30-day reservation function?

The 30-day reservation function was developed for merchants with whom the supply of goods or the provision of the actual service takes place at a point in time after the transaction.

Please note that you need to justify why you would like to use the 30-day reservation function and we will subsequently verify this reasoning.

For further information, please contact our Customer Service Team.

How do I, as a software developer, receive the TWINT API?

The TWINT API (application programming interface) is not publicly accessible and is also not made available on request. TWINT can only be integrated in online shops via a payment service provider or a corresponding plug-in.

Should you want to integrate a plug-in directly yourself, please fill out the application form for TWINT direct integration. We will subsequently review your application and get in touch with you within a few days.
