How do I register in the TWINT prepaid app?

If your bank does not have its own TWINT app, you can use the TWINT Prepaid app instead. First, install the TWINT Prepaid app for Android or iOS and then open the app.

For regulatory reasons, we need to identify you before you can register. To do so, please take the following steps:

  • You will first be asked to enter your mobile phone number. Please note that the mobile phone number must belong to you and the dialling code must be for one of the countries listed here. We will then send you an SMS containing a verification code. This is to make sure you have not entered your phone number incorrectly. To continue, enter this code in the app. Important: Never disclose this SMS code to other people.
  • Tap “Create new account”. Important: If you already have a TWINT Prepaid account, tap “I have a TWINT Prepaid account”.
  • Enter your personal details and then tap “Next”.
  • Enter your current address. We need to verify this before you can make full use of TWINT Prepaid.
  • Now it’s time to verify your identity. Follow the instructions on your smartphone.
  • After identifying yourself successfully, you must confirm that the TWINT credit belongs to you alone.
  • Set a 6-digit PIN to access your TWINT app. Depending on the device, you can activate biometric authentication as well. After registering, you can also activate unlocking by fingerprint or facial recognition.
  • If you ever forget your PIN or want to access your TWINT Prepaid account again after changing your smartphone, we will send you a one-time security PIN by e-mail. Enter an e-mail address of your own as your security contact.
  • Define which push notifications you would like to receive from TWINT and whether you want to give permission for TWINT to show you personalised offers. You can change this at any time in the settings.

Once you have completed the registration process, you will see a message on screen telling you whether you can now make full use of the TWINT app or whether we will carry out a manual check of your data, which may take a few days. Please note that contacting our Customer Service team will not speed up this check.

If we were unable to verify your address, you will be asked to send us a document so that we can verify the address. The list of accepted documents will be displayed in the app. Please note that we accept only the documents listed and cannot make any exceptions even if you contact our Customer Service team.

Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service team.
