Why are there different TWINT apps?

Many Swiss banks offer their own version of the TWINT app. Clients of these banks can connect TWINT directly to their bank account and, in some cases, also to their credit card. When they make payments with TWINT, the amount is debited directly to their bank account or credit card.

Switzerland’s biggest banks offer their own version of the TWINT app. Please search in the app stores for the name of your bank together with the term “TWINT”. Alternatively, you will find a list of all of the available apps at www.twint.ch/en/download.

Those who do not wish to make use of this convenient debit or credit function, or who do not have an account with the relevant bank, can continue to use the TWINT prepaid app with the “Top up credit” function.

You can also install and use several TWINT apps on your smartphone.
