How do I activate my location for “Partner functions” in the TWINT app?
In order to use certain partner features, such as parking or refuelling and charging, you must enable location sharing.
iOS
Step 1: General activation of location services
- Go to the Settings menu on your iPhone
- Click ‘Privacy’
- Activate the location services
Step 2: Activating the location services for the browser
- Open your iPhone settings and tap on your default browser (e.g. Safari) under ‘Privacy’ – if you are unsure, you can also perform these steps for all installed browsers (e.g. Chrome and/or Firefox)
- Select ‘While Using the App’
Step 3: Close the TWINT app and restart your iPhone
You can now use the partner functions with location services.
Android
Step 1: General activation of location services
- Go to the Settings menu on your smartphone
- Use the search function on your smartphone here to search for ‘Location’, ‘Show location’, or ‘Location access’
- Activate Location access
Step 2: Activating the location services for the browser
- Tap on your default browser (e.g. Chrome) – if you are unsure, you can also perform these steps for all installed browsers (e.g. Firefox, Samsung Browser or Edge)
- Activate Location permissions for the browser
Step 3: Close the TWINT app and restart your smartphone
You can now use the partner functions with location services.
Please note that the activation of the geolocation function may differ on each end device. For more precise instructions, please follow the instructions set out in your smartphone’s operating manual.
Troubleshooting iOS
If it still does not work, please proceed as follows:
- Select the ‘Parking’ option under ‘Partner functions’ in your TWINT app
- You will be redirected to Digitalparking’s Parking WebView
- Tap the page menu icon (
) in the top right-hand corner and then the 3 dots in the bottom right-hand corner to access the page menu - Tap “Location” and select the “Allow” option
You can now use the partner functions with location services.
Troubleshooting Android
If it still doesn’t work, please proceed as follows:
- Select the ‘Parking’ option under ‘Partner functions’ in your TWINT app
- You will be redirected to the Digitalparking Parking WebView
- Tap on the 3 dots in the top right-hand corner and select ‘Open in Chrome’ (depending on your browser, the option may be called something other than ‘Chrome’)
- Tap on the tune icon (
) in the address bar to the left of the URL and select ‘Permissions’ - Ensure that access to your location is permitted
You can now use the partner functions with location services.
