Which smartphones does TWINT work with?
Compatible devices
You will need a smartphone with either an iOS (from version 16.0 and upwards) or Android (from version 9 and upwards) operating system and Bluetooth capability (from version 4.0 and upwards). If you use a different TWINT app than the TWINT prepaid app, your TWINT issuer will set the minimum requirements.
Incompatible devices
It is generally not possible for TWINT to be installed on Apple devices with an operating system older than iOS 16.0 or on Android devices with an operating system older than Android 9. In addition, it is not possible to use TWINT on Android devices that cannot access the Google Play Store (e.g. on certain HUAWEI models). TWINT also does not work with devices that do not fulfil the security criteria according to Google SafetyNet. This is the case for rooted smartphones, for instance.
