TWINT integrates shopping lists directly into the app
TWINT’s new “Shopping list” feature enables more than 6 million users to plan, organise and share their shopping directly in the app – from creating and sharing shopping lists to paying for their purchases quickly and easily.
TWINT is continually expanding its role as a digital companion for everyday life. The new “Shopping list” feature comes into play before users even reach the cash register, helping them plan their shopping. With this new service, TWINT is strengthening its relevance in traditional retail stores and creating additional touchpoints with users in their everyday lives.
The feature is now available in the TWINT app. Users can create as many shopping lists as they like and share them with others – for example, when planning daily shopping for the household, the office or an upcoming event. Thanks to a smart search function and a catalogue featuring around 1,500 items, users can quickly find what they’re looking for and add it to the shopping list. Products not included in the catalogue can be added manually.
Sharing a list takes just a few seconds: users can invite other people to join a shopping list using a code, and all users with access to the list can then add items or check them off once they’ve been purchased. All changes synchronise in real time for everyone involved, so users can see which items are on the list and which ones have already been checked off at any time. Items added to the list can be marked as purchased directly in the list, before the process moves seamlessly on to payment with TWINT.
“With the shopping list, we’re adding a function to the TWINT app that meets a real everyday need in a simple, intuitive way. This will help us embed TWINT even more firmly in everyday life, from shopping lists to payments,” says TWINT CEO Markus Kilb.
The introduction of the shopping list is one of a series of enhancements designed to expand TWINT’s functionality beyond the payment process. These include the ability to store loyalty cards and the TWINT widget, which enables payments at the cash register and other everyday functions with just one tap on the lock screen. With the shopping list feature, TWINT is creating additional touchpoints throughout the shopping experience and underscoring its ambition to be a digital companion for everyday life.
