Switzerland has already saved over 1 million loyalty cards in the TWINT app

Since spring of this year, TWINT has made it possible for users to save numerous loyalty cards in the TWINT app, with more than 1 million loyalty cards having been digitalised to date. As a result, TWINT users no longer have to rummage through their wallets at the cash register.

Regardless of whether it’s a Coop Supercard, Migros Cumulus, Manor or an IKEA Family Club card, since April of this year, TWINT users have been able to save a wide range of loyalty cards from popular Swiss merchants digitally in the TWINT app. Once saved, the loyalty cards can be displayed directly in the TWINT app during the payment process. Users no longer have to rummage around their wallets, as the collecting of loyalty points is seamlessly integrated into the payment process.

More than 1 million loyalty cards have been saved in the TWINT app to date. Every week, several thousand users digitalise a loyalty card for the first time. The number of users who have saved more than one loyalty card in the TWINT app is also constantly rising. These figures illustrate the high level of acceptance and the huge benefits that integrating loyalty cards in the TWINT app entails. With this feature, TWINT is making shopping more convenient than ever before. Users no longer have to worry about losing or forgetting their loyalty cards and can enjoy a simpler shopping experience. Merchants in turn benefit from the intuitive digitalisation of their loyalty scheme and even greater customer loyalty.

Markus Kilb, CEO of TWINT: “We are delighted with the positive feedback we have received, and the impressive figures recorded since the rollout of loyalty card integration in our app. The rising number of saved cards and the increase in the use of the feature confirm the massive added value for our users and our network of merchants.”

The process for saving loyalty cards in the TWINT app is simple and intuitive: Users can add new cards in the “Loyalty cards and offers” menu. The cards are then visible directly in the payment screen under the QR code scanner during the payment process at the cash register. All users have to do is tap the card to have it scanned at the self-checkout or at the cash register. Some cards are automatically factored into the payment process without the user having to do anything at all. Payment and collecting loyalty points work seamlessly together.

So far, 35 of the biggest merchants in Switzerland allow for their loyalty cards to be saved in the TWINT app, with the list growing constantly. The following loyalty cards can already be saved in the TWINT app:
