Pay later in online shops and at the POS

Whether at the checkout or the in-store cash register, our pay-later option gives your customers the freedom to decide whether they want to pay immediately or in up to 30 days. Whatever suits them at the time.

The key points in brief

The new “pay later” * function gives your customers a relaxing, flexible shopping experience. They decide at the checkout or cash register whether they’d like to pay now or within 30 days. This feature is offered in collaboration with Swissbilling, a CembraPay AG brand.

* For purchases between CHF 1 and CHF 1,000. The “pay later” service is offered by our partner company Swissbilling by CembraPay and may be subject to the acceptance of GTCs and a positive credit check. Swissbilling by CembraPay may charge a fee.

Your benefits

The “pay later” function works like traditional purchases on account but is fully digital and paperless.

You don’t need to integrate or customise anything in your online shop. We’ll activate the pay-later option for you, so your customers have the flexibility to decide when they want to pay. The whole process is fully digital – you don’t have to send paper invoices or check incoming payments.

6 million people use TWINT on a regular basis – many appreciate the new flexibility of being able to decide when to pay. The pay-later option boosts conversion rates and improves customer loyalty. We’ll pay out your earnings as usual, either daily or weekly – regardless of when your customers pay.

With the pay-later option, there’s no financial risk for you. You’ll receive your money as usual, even if a customer pays later. The default risk is assumed by our partner company Swissbilling, a brand of CembraPay AG.

Purchasing on account is the
third most popular payment option

Customers in Switzerland love the flexibility to shop now and pay later. Purchasing on account is one of the most popular payment methods in Swiss online shopping and is a must for many online shoppers.

“Pay later” in your online shop

Integrate the “Pay later” function as a payment option in your online shop and enable your customers to decide whether they want to use TWINT to pay immediately or within 30 days. This way, you are offering a payment option that is similar to the traditional method of purchase on account but is handled entirely digitally via TWINT – no paperwork required.

“Pay later” at your in-store cash register

We have expanded the “pay later” option. You can now offer your customers the flexibility to decide at the cash register when to pay. If they have registered for the option, they can simply choose between “pay now” and “pay later” during the payment process. You will get your money in the usual payout cycle, regardless of when customers pay.

Your next steps

To offer the option to “pay later”, you need access to the TWINT Business Portal.
