Volg stores can be found in a great many Swiss villages, even in the most far-flung valleys. The Volg village stores offer an attractive range of products for everyday needs.
Volg customers can now also use TWINT – the leading mobile payment app – to pay for their shopping in their local village store. All they need to do when paying for their goods at the cash register is open the TWINT app and scan the automatically generated QR code using their smartphone. The amount will then be deducted directly from their digital wallet.
The leading mobile payment system
In just two years, TWINT has established itself as Switzerland’s leading mobile payment system. With some 1.6 million users and around 3 million transactions made every month, TWINT is becoming ever more popular. Around 140 TWINT transactions are already executed every minute.
In addition to making in-store payments, TWINT is the fastest payment solution in the area of ecommerce and can be used for transferring money to other TWINT users. TWINT is today accepted in practically all major retail stores, including Coop, Migros and Spar and now also Volg. TWINT is also the leading payment solution in the mobility sector and allows for payments to be made with the SBB, BLS, many private railway networks, Fairtiq, TCS and the largest provider of electric charging stations. What’s more, TWINT can already be used to pay to use approximately 90,000 parking spaces in Switzerland, thus negating the need to have cash.
“In Volg, we have gained a very important partner, as the Volg stores are a vital local provider for people living in rural areas. We are thus now able to say that TWINT has made it largely unnecessary to carry your purse or wallet around. Public transport, parking spaces and almost all of your shopping can now be paid for using TWINT”, said a clearly delighted Markus Kilb, CEO of TWINT.
