TWINT strengthens its management team

TWINT AG, the company behind the mobile payment solution with the same name, is expanding. The expansion includes creating two new management-level positions: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Director of Sales. As of 1 January 2018 Anton Stadelmann will assume his post as CFO. Stadelmann is a renowned specialist in financial management and corporate development, having gained experience at both banks and start-ups. The recruitment process to fill the position of Director of Sales is still under way and should be completed before the end of the year. This move underlines the company’s desire to push forward with the expansion of TWINT.

‘Anton Stadelmann has accompanied TWINT from the beginning. He knows both those sitting on the management board and those working at operational level. He has the necessary skills to lead the financial and strategic operations of complex organisations. His business experience is also very important for us during this phase. I am very much looking forward to working together with him on continuing TWINT’S success story’,

says TWINT CEO Thierry Kneissler.

After the new TWINT was launched in April 2017 and user numbers have been growing continually ever since, the company has now decided to also reinforce its financial management team. The newly created post of CFO will also involve elements of corporate development in order to guarantee the company’s profitability in the long-term.

‘After seven exciting years at UBS, I am looking forward to helping TWINT expand further and contributing my experience’,

explains Anton Stadelmann, who will assume the new post as CFO on 1 January 2018 and join the management team of TWINT AG in his new role.

The banking and financial management expert who has a Master’s degree from the University of St. Gallen was a co-founder of a successful start-up in the financial sector. Since 2011 Stadelmann has worked in various roles at UBS in London and Zurich, most recently as Head of Finance & Advisory UBS Asset Management. He was directly involved in the establishment of TWINT AG: during the merger of Paymit and TWINT, Stadelmann’s role was in the corporate development of the company and he represented UBS at all negotiations.

In expanding the sales department by creating the post of Director of Sales, TWINT is strengthening its customer focus within the organisation.

‘The mobile payment solution for Switzerland has been developed and successfully launched on the market. Now we must take advantage of this potential and scale our solution to the market’,

Thierry Kneissler continues. The recruitment process is still under way and should be completed before the end of the year.

The new TWINT was launched in April 2017. Since then, approximately 40 Swiss banks have offered their customers the possibility to use TWINT as a digital wallet. TWINT customers can pay direct and cashless from their bank account in online shops, at the cash register and at ATMs. It is also possible for money to be transferred between private individuals and for payment requests to be made. With TWINT, users also benefit from added-value services, including the ability to save customer loyalty cards, digital stamp cards and discount coupons. With approximately 470,000 registered users and around 400,000 transactions a month, TWINT is Switzerland’s most-used payment app. TWINT AG belongs to Switzerland's biggest banks, namely BCV (Banque Cantonale Vaudoise), Credit Suisse, PostFinance, Raiffeisen, UBS and Zürcher Kantonalbank, as well as the financial services provider SIX.
