In no time at all, TWINT has established itself as Switzerland’s leading mobile payment system. With more than three million users, TWINT is becoming increasingly popular. In addition to the “TWINT Prepaid” solution, a wide range of banks are now also offering their own TWINT app with the main advantage for customers of these banks being the ability to connect their bank accounts directly to the app.
Three new TWINT apps
The “Migros Bank TWINT” app was launched this week. Migros Bank customers can now benefit from all the advantages it offers and connect their bank accounts directly to the bank’s TWINT app without having to use the prepaid solution.
This month will also see the launch of the “Valiant TWINT” app. This means that Valiant customers can also benefit from all of the advantages offered by a TWINT app from their principal bank. “This is an important step for us. Valiant places an emphasis on providing simple solutions and modern digital services", explained Christoph Wille, a member of the Valiant Executive Board.
Thurgauer Kantonalbank has already been offering its customers its own “TKB TWINT” app and all of the advantages that go with it since the middle of April.
90 percent of Swiss bank customers
With the addition of these banks to its roster, TWINT is now able to provide approximately 90% of all bank account holders in Switzerland with the opportunity to connect their bank accounts directly to the TWINT app. “Although the prepaid solution is very popular, the TWINT app offered by your principal bank makes many things much easier and the payment process is straightforward when the app is connected directly to your bank account”, commented Markus Kilb, CEO of TWINT. He continued by saying that “we are delighted that Thurgauer Kantonalbank, Migros Bank and Valiant can now offer this added value to their customers”.
