Green light for Swiss mobile payment solution

The joint Swiss mobile payment system TWINT has today received approval from the Swiss Competition Commission and can now move ahead with the merger of both systems as planned.

Great news! Paymit and TWINT are to join forces as TWINT AG, which will now involve Switzerland’s six largest banks and SIX and combine the best aspects of both systems. Following the positive decision of the Swiss Competition Commission, operational work on the joint Swiss mobile payment system can now begin. This will lead to the creation of an open, platform-independent, competitive and customer-friendly solution for all market participants which will offer cross-channel payment functions and value-added services such as the ability to take advantage of coupons and stamp cards.
