Can I pay with TWINT if I have no mobile reception?

Sometimes, an offline payment can still be made via a TWINT Beacon, provided that your TWINT app still supports the Beacon function (this is being gradually deactivated). In the TWINT prepaid app, it has not been possible to pay using the Beacon since app version 41 (end of 2023). This function will be deactivated in the other TWINT apps at a later point in time.

If it is not longer possible to pay at a Beacon in your TWINT app, you can only use TWINT to pay if you are connected to the internet. Should you be in a shop and not have sufficient reception from your mobile network provider to connect to the internet (e.g. in shops that are below ground level), please ask a member of staff whether there is a Wi-Fi network for customers available.
